Skyline Health Diagnostics – Password expired

After some time I had to launch the SHD appliance again to check a log bundle.

Since I had not used it for some time, the password of the SHD-admin account expired:

Well, I thought, I just have to reset the password as described in the documentation here.

However, after logging in via SSH to the appliance and I was denied access or execution of the command:

As a quick workaround, you can execute the usermanager command (/opt/vmware-shd/vmware-shd/app/apiserver/usermanager~) directly in the directory as shown in the screenshot:

First you have to enter the previous password and then you can reset the password for the shd-admin account with option 4.

After that, a login is possible immediately, i.e. without a reboot.
